Number Selection/Inventory About to Roll Out
Check out the new number selection process on the dev order form at https://billing.voipo.com/devorder/.
It's still being cleaned up but is functional and basically done now. This will be rolled out to the public order form, express local number ordering, and virtual number ordering by the end of the week (just testing more).
It now breaks things down more and the selection process goes like this:
1) State
2) Area Code (Within That State)
3) City (Within That Area Code)
4) Number Selection
This should be clear and let people narrow their search way down.

BTW, if you notice any area code linked to the wrong state, please post here. We're resyncing the mapping database tomorrow, but if you see any post here so we can make sure they are covered before we push this out.

NC is pretty squirrely. The state should have 252, 336, 704, 828, 910, 919, and 980.
You'll need to delete 303, 360, 702, 803, 843, 864, 909, 949, and 984. 984 is mapped to NC (Raleigh area), but those numbers are not yet being assigned.
Another nitpicky thing--I see that the title bar shows "Order a Toll-Free Number from VOIPo" when I'm on the virtual (local) number...

Area code gets somewhat covered up in Firefox:

You might find 3.0.3 a bit better...better security as well..
Re: Number Selection/Inventory About to Roll Out
Version 3 is not working with some of my add-on's, so I'm waiting to upgrade.
Re: Number Selection/Inventory About to Roll Out
Maryland has several area codes listed. The only ones that SHOULD be there are 240, 301, 410, and 443. DC and VA area codes are listed there as well.

I had the same problem until I found the compatibility override add-on and this has virtually made almost everyone work fine.
It's called 'override all capability' and it sits in the bottom of my drop down add-on window..
You can get it here....

Re: Number Selection/Inventory About to Roll Out
If you are not familiar with area codes, you may want to start with city.
Just a thought. If it were an ideal world ....
I'd add to selections to the web page as choices are made.
(Not just a simple web form then - either Java or Ajax I suspect without redrawing the whole screen. Just brainstorming! Or it could be two forms, side-by-side as HTML.)
Select State
Select State FL
Select City or Area Code
Select State FL
Select City or Area Code Area Code
Choose Area Code
Select State FL
Select City or Area Code Area Code
Choose Area Code 352
Choose City
Select State FL
Select City or Area Code Area Code
Choose Area Code 352
Choose City Wildwood (352)
Claim Your Number!
Select State FL
Select City or Area Code Area Code
Choose Area Code 352
Choose City Wildwood (352)
Claim Your Number! 352-399-5555
CONVERSELY, it could build in a second way resulting in:
Select State FL
Select City or Area Code City
Choose City Wildwood (352)
Claim Your Number! 352-399-5555
Re: Number Selection/Inventory About to Roll Out
1. It would be easier to read the numbers if they were 413-1234567 or just drop the area code, it has already been selected.
2. You should expect people to use Firefox 2 for a good while longer.
Re: Number Selection/Inventory About to Roll Out
Might want to add Modesto to the CA 209... one of the bigger cities in the 209 area code.

If you guys see any others like this where they're not there and they're large, let me know.

Yeah that's the plan. IE back through and including IE6. Chrome and Safari.
Re: Number Selection/Inventory About to Roll Out
That looks really good. Missouri appears to be correct!
Re: Number Selection/Inventory About to Roll Out
The city list for Texas area code 361 is not correct. Corpus Christi should be added.
Just to let you know.;)
Re: Number Selection/Inventory About to Roll Out
We resynced with updated NPA/NXX lists today and all area codes should be correct now in the states.
If you see an issue with that still, let us know.
Re: Number Selection/Inventory About to Roll Out
Maryland still has lots of incorrect area codes.
