Can I change my caller ID from out of area?

Can I change the message that gets sent out with my caller ID? Currently it shows as "Out of Area" and my phone number. I'd like to change the out of area to: Jim & Diane Hall

I certainly don't want " Out of Area " showing in the caller Id ... !

Best approach is to put a ticket in by emailing support@VOIPo.com

If they can do it, it takes a few days to propagate once in the LIDB.
What gets displayed will also depend on the service you are calling. If they use a proper LIDB that has up-to-date records then a proper name should show.

The name will show the City and State and the Out of Area message will go away. It may take a week or so for this to start happening on brand new numbers.

VOIPo does not support setting a name besides the City/State at this time, but we hope to roll that option out to everyone by the end of the year. One of our primary wholesale number partners does not support the option, but they expect to add it soon. Once that happens, we'll be able to support setting a custom name in all areas.
