    Default SIP usage

I just transferred my account from residential to reseller. Here are some things I noticed, and I am not sure about. The literature that I read stated I would get a free e911 account.. my number was transferred, but did not have e911 enabled. I enabled it and got charged 1.oo. Also am paying for every minute I use, but paid 18.00 two weeks ago. Do I get credit. And lastly I managed to use the sip feature on a number, but it was using my wholesale minutes. I though the sip usage was free. I might not understand the sip thing, could you clarify? Everything else seems great, and does not seem to confusing. I like what I see, and I understand the 50.00 credit was a freebee, so I am not complaining, just want to make sure we are all on the same page.
    Thanks
    Tim

Yes, all accounts include 3 free numbers, 3 free 911 accounts, and first 1000 minutes each month. If you're not getting this, please e-mail reseller@voipo.com and explain what you're seeing and it'll get fixed for you.

SIP usage is when you use a SIP address instead of a phone number.

So if an incoming call goes to 10DigitNumber@in01.voipwelcome.com or you forward something to a sip address outbound. Basically it's when you don't use the phone number and it bypasses the regular phone network and stays on the internet the entire time.

    Skype does not use SIP.

A test number that echos back anything you say could be a way to test.
    sip:echo@iptel.org
I have outbound routing 456 set to "ring" it.
It does not actually ring but works right away after I dial 456#

There may not be many, especially since FreeWorldDialup lost its free aspect. There are other VoIP companies that permit SIP calling. None that I currently use.

Too bad VOIPo does not have test numbers ...

    Suggestions:
    sip:echo@in.voipo.com
    sip:time@in.voipo.com

Would that include a Google Voice as a sip forward?

I don't use Google Voice. Not sure what your question means.
Perhaps someone else has an answer?

Let me see if I understand correctly (SIP is new to me).

If I initiate a SIP call, rather than dialing a number, basically from one SIP user to another (even if on a different service), then that call doesn't use any "minutes"... it is basically free?

    Thanks in advance.
