    When viewing an account...

    I imagine it would be helpful to most resellers if we could assign a generic "Plan Code" to each account.

    Just a simple text field. Doesn't have to be programmable or control anything.

    This would allow resellers to know what type of account we're looking at while doing billing or talking to a customer, without having to refer somewhere else.

    why dont you just refer to the customers number as their account number.

    I dont see a plan code coming into the voipo cpanel because they dont make the plans for your customers you do.

    For those of us who are marketing people, not coders, the more "reseller friendly" things are, the quicker we can start selling instead of tinkering.

    Having some kind of generic text field available to the reseller would simply allow us to assign (and see on report screens) some kind of meaningful information for the account...

    possible uses for this field include:

    customer's name or company name (arguably more meaningful than a huge list of numbers)

    plan code (would allow resellers to identify different types of customers and make sure plans are setup correctly, with minute limits set properly for example.)

    feature code (enter letters describing enabled features like fax lines, toll free lines, international calling, etc.)



    In short, this feature would take about 15 or 20 minutes for the VOIPo programmer to build-in, and would save each reseller a LOT of time having to build apps or refer to offline accounting information while doing simple phone support.

    Again, I'm not looking for a data field that controls anything. Just a passive text box where we can store some info and have it readily displayed on reports (onscreen and exported).

    There is a generic text box on the account details page... after you click the phone number.

    Yes, and I'm using that. But it would be great to have either that text box (or a smaller one) show up on some of the report pages. So as we browse through the reports we can more readily know what we're looking at.

    It isn't necessary for resellers with a few dozen accounts. But with hundreds or thousands, a code would be very helpful. (at least, until we have an API link.)
