Default Great forwarding number for annoying calls

I have too much free time on my hands so I love playing with all the annoying phone callers I get from companies and organizations who are not supposed to call me. Usually I send all those numbers to the "DISCONNECTED" intercept but now I forward them to this number instead:

    It's called "The rejection hotline."

My old carrier (a large cable company who will remain unnamed) didn't allow the "disconnected" option - one of the several reasons I dumped them. So I got in the habit of forwarding the annoying calls to a phone sex number.

I thought it was funny, of course. But most of them were robocalls with no human on the receiving end of my joke. So the robocalls continued unabated.

I stopped after I did a little research. Still not 100% sure, but it seems if one of the annoying callers actually paid for the "service" they were forwarded to, I would be billed.

Side note: I love the ability to use wildcards in the call routes. Came in handy when I discovered one of the annoying callers calls from a range of numbers.

    Funny recording!
But telephony-wise, is it worthwhile to give the unwanted call from a robo-dialer a reorder tone or some such, in the hopes that they'll auto-purge your number?

I get calls over and over from most of the robo-calls even when they get the disconnect intercept. Doesn't seem to make a difference.

I don't think so because the caller ID the forwarded call gets is from the caller who placed the call that got forwarded (if you get my drift) not from me. Besides, I highly doubt Voipo would accept those bills (same reason you can't call 900 lines from Voipo or any voip provider or make collect calls).

Yes, the wildcards are absolutely great. I have whole area codes blocked in some cases. The "route" feature was the #1 reason I chose Voipo over some of my other options that were similarly priced. I also liked the fact they were US based and all support was US based.

Nothing. 866 is a normal toll-free area code, though one of the newer ones.

The US FCC/SEC/DoC should have a LAW that US carriers must refuse incoming VoIP or SS7 base phone calls where these originate out of the US and use a country code / area code designated for the US.

But I suppose this is/has been easily thwarted too.
