The downgraded software lost the way to direct accounts to line 1 or 2 IIRC

Ive tried about everything I can think of short of starting some dialog with the tech support department. They have shorter hours than me at work so I just need to remember to call or log in at the right time.

Did you have a Global Village account or just get through the first screen?

I now get a message about getting updates from Global when I enter the mac address at the zoom page..

Telenet has a good variety of option on these units also...

If someone would like to help I can walk you through a tftp session on your Zoom box to get the file out...

Ive contacted Zoom this morning via E-mail about firmware for these things.

If I'm successful Ill make it available to everyone.

    Question for anyone that knows...

How do you set up a tftp server so that the unit updates its firmware through that server automatically?

There is a windows tftp server from SolarWinds.

    http://www.solarwinds.com/products/f...tp_server.aspx

I've used it in the past with good results. These days I'm on a Mac and haven't have the need to fire up a tftp server on it (yet).

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Norm!

So if a newer firmware revision simply resides on the server, the adaper will go find it??

Load the tftp server and the firmware on your local box. Then you "should" be able to find a setting on the zoom to set the tftp server address. In this case, you would set the tftp server address (in the zoom) to the address of your local box (where the tftp server is running).

Since, hopefully both your local box and the zoom will be on the same network (your private lan) they should be able to find and communicate with each other with a minimum of fuss and bother.

    Hope this helps.

TFTPD32 is a TFTP server/DHCP server for windows I use.
Static DHCP served IPs can be set editing the registry and
seem more consistent than routers I've used.

I net boot PCs via TFTP to run to help Stanford.

I use PumpKIN for tftp server/client, pretty easy to setup and can download from
    here http://kin.klever.net/dist/pumpkin-2.7.2.exe
