Using behind pfSense
I did up a quick "how to" to help get things to work behind a pfSense firewall... Hopefully helps anyone who's struggled with it in the past...

Re: Using behind pfSense
I need to do a little updating to this document but for now if you decide to try this...
Watch your firewall logs while you make a call. These will usually show the carrier server trying to connect until the ATA makes its connection to that server. (A firewall by default will block what is sees as an unsolicited connection attempt.) Make a firewall rule allowing that server (usually an entire subnet allowing multiple servers) to UDP to the ports your ATA needs for RTP, to your WAN port. Ill better explain that in the new document when I get it done probably by spring of next year. (blame the FCC for that).
But anyone who needs clarification just ask here. Please no PM. Keep it public for everyone's benefit.
