Default There I go thinking again ... SIP line

An old boss used to say "There I go thinking again ..."
(I think he is actually younger than me )
    Plenty of food-for-thought!

For a thought on a Soft Phone 2nd line option (again) with a twist.
1st, rather than log into vPanel with a number that could change (and then what?)

    • Have users provide a unique ID, Naturally I would be "usa2k".
    • Then allow that to be a soft phone number (free with the unlimited account.)
    • It would allow sip calls to reach you: sip:usa2k@softphone.voipo.com
    • It would get all the routing/filtering so those you don't know could go to VM or something.
    • Outbound would display your primary number and allow PSTN connections. (THE TWIST)

For those that want a DID mapped,
    • buy a Virtual Number(EXTRA COST),
    • map it to route to the sip:usa2k@softphone.voipo.com

WAIT: You don't do that. Please add that routing possibility too.

    • Routing:
    • Forward by DID
    • DID: <5551235555>
    • FORWARD: <sip:usa2k@softphone.voipo.com>

    Not sure about 911 calls.
Not sure if you thought about that for a soft phone in general.
I thought you were going to allow selection of more than one 911 profile,
so you don't have to keep putting in a new location every time it changes?

    • Add E911 profiles by a descriptive location ("Home", "Work", "Campground", "Dungeon".)
    • You could assign E911 separately to each of PRIMARY-DID and SOFT-PHONE
    • Each could pick from the profile locations list you provide.

Just a heads up that a simplistic version of this was added in a round of touchups this week. Will be expanded upon in V2 after launch.

Now it stores 911 addresses that you've provided and you change among them with one click. Going to add the ability to delete stored addresses next week and then it'll pretty much stay the way it is through launch.

Thumbs up Re: There I go thinking again ... SIP line

Excellent! It will look so much better for the next round of users!
Only a few companies have done this (BroadvoxDirect)
