OK, now, if you get a dial tone when ATA is connected, dial ***, then 12. If the voice prompt tells you the WAN port access is disabled, then more than likely your ATA became unprogrammed.

You're right! I guess that leads me to... how did it become unprogrammed and how do I go about reprogramming it?

If the ATA WAN port is disabled, you can reprogram the ATA yourself. Note: If the password admin does not work, then your ATA is locked, which means that it IS STILL PROGRAMMED.

    OK,

Make sure that your internet modem is connected directly to the WAN port on the phone adapter and your computer is connected directly to the LAN port on the adapter. A phone is connected and power is connected.

Now, turn on your phone and dial *** then 12, after you hear that the WAN port is disabled, press 9. You should then hear that the WAN port is enabled.

    Hang up the phone.

Open your internet browser and where you would type in a web address, type in the following, 192.168.2.1 then enter

You will now log into the adapter. For the administrative password, type admin

    Choose advanced settings

Where it says config server path, delete what is there and replace with the following: provisioning.voipwelcome.com

    Click update, then click reboot.

Now, your adapter will download the configuration from Voipo's server. This may take anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes.

When you have a dial tone, try a test call. If it doesn't work, then reboot your adapter by unpluging the power and wait 10 seconds, then plug power back in and allow to reboot for a minute.
