View Full Version : Call being disconnected every N minutes?

I called a friend in California (land-line on his side). Every so many minutes the call got disconnected. This happened at least 4 times. As of this moment the VPanel logs are not very meaningful - I think it happened every 16 or so minutes. Anyone else experience this?

I can't say it's happened on my line... If it had, I'd definitely hear about it! :o

If you remember one or more of the calls that got dropped, be sure to include the call reference IDs as part of your support ticket. (Click either the From or To number in the call log for the call that got dropped, and you'll see the call ID - looks like this: 70c59b857f3c82e0573e99a35d4d134d@sip-east01.voipwelcome.com or ATLMGC0190391521208635021067@209.244.63.45 ... ) FWIW, I doubt the number (before the @) has any significance to anyone outside Voipo, including fellow customers, but I changed some of the digits in both examples to appease my paranoia. :)

I've opened a ticket (HHA-228808). Even this morning the call history is weird - shows calls of zero time except the last one which is 15 minutes. This was my first attempt in quite some time to make a longish long distance call and it was a disaster! Luckily it was to a friend and not for some business purpose.

Sounds like something is amiss with the keep-alive settings on your adapter. Have you tried just rebooting it?

Interestingly, made another call to the same caller. First call gets disconnected between 15 and 16 minutes. Ditto for the second call. The third call lasted as long as I wanted it to - longer than the 16 minutes cut-off. And, a fourth call shortly thereafter also lasted longer than 16 minutes. In fact both the third and fourth calls were > 30 mins, iirc The interesting thing about the calls which were disconnected is only one appears to show up in the call logs for 0 minutes. Same experience yesterday - these disconnected calls were showing up as zero minutes. I've called this number before without issue, but that was before I had "upstream provider" issues and some reconfiguration was done.
