Just a bunch of meandering, brainstorming thoughts about a Reseller Web interface. :)

From http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,21364685 I see there is a Myriad of cookie-cutter sites hawking Viatalk.

An example:
http://voip.digital-mayhem.com/site/home

Most of that old Google link, leads to sites with certificate problems when you click the Sign-up link. They almost always have the address as "Address: 5 Corporate Drive, Clifton Park, NY." I think many are discontinued deadwood on the Internet landscape.

They even all have the same support email.

As far as an address goes ... in the early stage I might have to do one of those Mailboxes address tricks (http://www.theupsstore.com/products/maiandpos.html). Something to instill confidence. I've also seen Virtual Offices that answer phones with your name and put you in a big shiny building without a physical office for $100/month.

Around here for $300/month, you can get an 8x10 office and a general receptionist for all the offices.

I wonder how some are pursuing independent start-ups? Some here are surely HostGator Resellers too. At what level would you get registered as an LLC business, or is that a must from the get-go?

The trickiest part is setting up a web interface that gives an appearance of independence and looks confident. An API to a Reseller Database would be the most professional way to make a storefront that can be as unique as the Reseller wishes. Amazon has an API to products, as do many retail businesses. VoIP is a little tricky, because it involves regular billing intervals, and accumulating costs like International Calling.

Depending on what VOIPo designs, a website could be easy, or very hard. If its dumbed-down, then many sites get that cookie-cutter pattern.
