I don't remember this discussion. I expect that the MAC ID keeps a soft phone from this. Can a thread be started for discussion?

It already doesn't. SIP and On Network are currently billed at $0.

Yes it does not bill but it does subtract the clients minutes.

That's more of a reseller billing thing. In the first launch, we're not doing anything billing wise for resellers and focusing only on our billing, but we can look at that in the future when we address billing/reporting tools for resellers.

Alright I was just adding it to the list of goodies :) Did not know if you were aware of that.

Maybe a way so any in-network calling wont subtract minutes? That is an interesting side-effect. That adds to usage, even though no charges apply? I would rather deal with Billed Minutes, and International, and only those affect minute totals.

Even if work is involved, this sounds important. This would also be confusing on a plan with limited inbound, but limited outbound.

Good catch computergeek7632.

Does it also affect SIP calls? Or just direct dialed In-Network calls?
I have not verified any of this yet ...

EDIT:

I am not seeing sip calls add to Usage, or show in call records.
I believe a VOIPo to Reseller Included account did add the test minute.
I can't connect my Reseller accounts from or to VOIPo, just my included account.
Included Reseller to Reseller account works. No added minutes or call record that I noticed.
Reseller to Reseller also worked. No added minutes or call record.

Currently SIP and On Network are charged at $0.

As far a On Network, we will be fixing a few bugs connecting those calls & having them show in call history with SIP server update that will be pushed out soon.

Is there a way a reseller can run a trace on a certain call? (Random Question)

I'm not sure what you're looking for... What kind of information would you be looking to get in a trace?

Like the way you guys can use a call ref id to find bugs and such.

Like the way you guys can use a call ref id to find bugs and such.

That doesn't show anything that would be useful for you guys really. That just shows how the call flowed through the VOIPo network (we have many many many servers besides the sip servers like feature servers, simul ring servers, etc) and the upstream carrier partners involved), etc. So as an example we may see it went through a particular carrier partner and re-route that destination to another. Without access to all the stuff the trace shows, they don't really have any info that would be of any use.

A worthy question with an equally worthy answer on usefulness to a Reseller.
