I just got my Grandstream HT502 device today.
I was a vonage customer.. well i guess i still am..
I had two lines through vonage...... i run a small part time business and needed a second line for the Man Cave

Anyway... I had to do some trouble shooting..
I have my device acting as my NAT... i disabled my wireless router and just set it up as a bridge.

I changed the IP on the grandstream for the internal network and setup my forwarding port.... if anyone doesn't know .. the default password is 123...
make sure you change that..

I got both my phones plugged in and my second line is setup as an addon line...
unfortunately my second line doesn't ring. it just goes to voice mail... i can call out on it...
the main line works fine...
Put a ticket into support.
Other than that.. i also signed up for the fax service which saved me money again... i was using smartfax which was $6.95 a month... i payed 24 bucks for the year for the fax service through voipo.

I also ported my main number from vonage to voipo.
They said it would be transfered on March 22... well it appears to already be ported because it rings on the voipo service already and its the 15th.

anyway... the call quality sounds good.
Don't have much more to say since i am new to it... but the price is right!

I'd be cautious about canceling Vonage until you can 100% be sure the port is complete. Other VOIPo service would route to the ATA before porting because it runs SIP to SIP. If its a cell phone reaching your line, it would seem you may have ported early. When did you request the port?

I requested the port on 3-8-2010... i'm going to hold on to vonage until the end of the month..... its payed for up till then anyway....

My 2nd line still won't ring.. it just goes straight to voice mail
Does support work certain hours?... i opened a ticket around 9PM last night....
There still isn't a response.

Yes, wait on canceling Vonage, and also good luck canceling Vonage. I called Vonage and was told the port wasn't complete, so waiting another week. Called again, they said it wasn't complete, even though VOIPo said it was. Vonage is a SHADY company, they tried everything to get me to do a port reversal to regain me as a customer. They then charged me over $100 for the vonage V portal device, and $39 for early cancellation.

I told them I would pay the $40 for early cancellation and I would ship back there adapter, but they still charged me the $100. I did a charge back on the $100 charge via Amex, stupid Vonage.

Very happy with VOIPo, the support is TOP notch.

I had no trouble porting from Vonage last month and canceling my account. I did wait until the port was complete. Vonage says that when you cancel an account you still have 30 days to port.

I was outside the year commitment so I had no issue with an ETF and they didn't ask for the V-portal back.

I'd be cautious about canceling Vonage until you can 100% be sure the port is complete.

This is great advice, regardless of the losing carrier involved. It is essential to wait until the number transfer has completed before canceling service with your pre-existing provider. Our Porting Specialists swiftly relay all number transfer details directly to you throughout the process.

Did you ever get the second/add-on line working properly? Have you rebooted your adapter since you've upgraded the 2nd line? If you only rebooted it immediately after the change, have you tried rebooting again more recently? Has support gotten back to you?

Is there a way to port Vonage UK/Canadian virtual Numbers?
