Almost every day now for a week I had to re-boot my ht502 in order to get back to normal speed. I have a Verizon dry loop line and Verizon 1MB internet. I don't know who is at fault with my problem. When the Internet goes down to < than .01MB the phone also is dead. Is there a way to separate Voipo from Verizon to find who is causing my problem??
Any suggestions on what or who is causing this to happen ??

What is your network setup? It sounds like you are double NAT'ing. If your ATA is in front of your router, you can change the ATA to bridged mode. Sometimes you can also get away with moving the ethernet cable coming from the LAN ATA going to your router internet port, to just a regular port on the router.

I have my ATA in front of my Westel 327w wireless router. What is bridging ?? It seems the set-up I have worked all right till recently but I am willing to try anything at this point.

Did you have to enter pppoe or pppoa login credentials into your 502?

Can you log into the ata and see what its wan address is?

Could not find wan address. I have a PPP connection???. Know very little about this stuff. Know enough to get it working but not enough to trouble shot when something goes wrong.

To find your WAN address, go into Vpanel - Features-Devices and look for something that appears as xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx - ignore everything from the : forward. Enter into your web browser http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and see if you come to a password prompt for the ATA. I think for basic settings the password is 123 - maybe someone can confirm this.

I tried to post, but got a moderator prompt/reject. Find WAN by going into Vpanel/Features/Devices - let's see if this gets rejected.

Enter that WAN into a web browser and see if you get a prompt for the 502 password.

Is this what you mean ?? Don't see anything about wan when I followed your directions.

This is your WAN IP 96.235.156.216, but try your local IP as well 192.168.1.47

Be careful with making this info public.

Another option if you know how to get into your DSL modem is to set that as "bridged ethernet" - I would set both the DSL modem and ATA as bridged and have your router do your NAT'ing.

VOIPo support can probably help you get this resolved, before you get too involved I would see what they can do for you first, they deal with this kind of stuff everyday and are quite responsive.
