Receiving Many Fax Calls

Recently I have been receiving several fax calls from random numbers. I actually don't receive the call, but I do have messages in my VoiceMail, 6 minutes of fax tones. Being on the "do not call" list does not seem to help. I block each number but others keep coming. Any ideas what is going on?

Highly unlikely as I have had the same phone number for over 30 years.

It may be possible that someone has a fax number that's close to the same digits as yours, maybe only 2 digits different, and that person has printed literature or internet ads, with the wrong number posted in the ads that just happens to match yours.

That is possible I guess. Do FAXs need to abide by the DNC list?

Do ANY numbers respect the DNC list? I haven't found the DNC to be at all effective.

It seems FAX calls are allowed to DNC numbers.

Is it possible my number got on some kind of list in retaliation since all unwanted calls I receive get sent to the "Disconnect" feature.

Are the numbers all from the same area code/prefix? (904) 623-xxxx ? or even 904-62x-xxx? Set up a block and send the calls to the disconnected, busy, or forward the calls to the Federal Trade Commission's fax line. :)

Finally figured it ot. All calls came from another service forwarding calls to my number. Glad that it stopped.
