I'm looking to move from Vonage but want to first try Voipo. Is there a way to try out voipo before beginning the number porting procedure?

Yes, when you open a Voipo account you will be given a virtual number. You can use that number with the service to try it out. Your number can't be ported until you submit the required paperwork so just hold off until you are sure that you like the service. I used the service for about a week before sending in the paperwork to port over my landline number.
