DSLReports.com is my home on the Internet. With the woes of their hardware at a data
center, they've been down all week. It feels as bad to me as going without Internet at all.

You can see some of the gorey details at their site where a progress message is posted.

Fingers crossed for life to return to normal by the weekend!

Anybody else have a site they would miss dearly?

I can relate. It's one of the sites I'm in the habit of constantly checking....

Surprised it's been down so long.

I too visit that site daily. I hope they get their new hardware before the weekend.

My biggest question is why if they don't have a UPS on that bugger... But I suppose they do and it failed. I know Ive seen our building UPS fail and stay down even after the generator started and took over...

Im working on changing out one of the redundant supplies in each server here with a -48VDC supply for just those types of moments...

Yes. The world is almost normal again.
Hopefully we will move from 2010 to 2012 soon.
I miss the Android forum . . .
Good old Team Helix and VoIP forums are in play though :)

Data restoration is underway. User accounts, ISP reviews and news have been restored. There will be some hours of down time scheduled for final restoration.
Things are coming together :)

I missed DSLReports and Karl Bode more than I want to admit. Glad to see they're slowing coming back to life.

mint.com has become essential for me. I have kept my fingers crossed since Intuit purchased them that the new corporate parent would not ruin them. So far, so good.

Friday update: All site function and forums will be restored after an hour of downtime this evening (database consolidation and switchover)
Looking like my favorite Android forum will be back.
Just ordered a refurbished Motorola Xoom today so I'll be able to do more than read about it soon!

Glad to see it coming back up here as well.

If nothing else, I think this serves as a reminder that things happen and that it's important to always have good backups and keep a local copy of data we have out there on various sites.
