As I am thinking about DND, when I block all unknown calls ...
The only way to ring the phone is Whitelist.
If I were to turn on DND, nothing will change.

I see two possible improvements:

Add a Ring Phone Always option, or .......
Rename Whitelist to Ring-then-VM and have two check boxes:

Whitelist
SMS

That way you say what rings the phone, what gets through DND,
and if SMS alerts should be sent when Voicemail picks up.

Why is it so hard to find a step by step guide for setting up the Whitelist feature. And then how to block all other numbers from ringing through? Yes I can set up a Whitelist. But it does not block just any other number. When I set the adapter to the do not disturb and the busy signal function under the do not disturb function, all numbers even the ones in the Whitelist get the busy signal.

That may be better than I understood then.
I thought whitelist would get through.
Goes to prove I should test what I thought I knew intellectually.

I'll need to put DND to a test. (At a family friendlier hour.)

I block all unknown calls. (Send to VM)
In effect, only whitelist normally rings through.

I have used it and when in DND mode, only my whitelist numbers and contact list numbers ring thru. The only feature I miss is having the ability to schedule the DND feature.

I believe you could schedule the DND by using the API and a task scheduler.
