Just wondering if this is something VOIPo would want, or would it defeat profitability? It would seem it might lower costs by more sip connections that would have been PSTN linked connections. Being an all you can eat Residential Plan, it seems it would help.

Even promoting the use of e164.org might be a plus. Just think: More minutes in peoples logs that do not count as minutes against their account. Even if the account is unlimited.

An interface to the site, or a how-to might allow the other features such as email to be utilized? I am not sure I have the big picture of this DNS-Like technology?

As long as we can implement peering type arrangements like this with it being pretty much transparent to most users, I'm all for it. It lowers costs for sure when we can complete a call bypassing the traditional PSTN network.
