In that thread are some experiences with VOIPms and looking at how that compares to VOIPo Express. I would have just used VOIPo, but it is a Windsor, Ont number I really wanted.

VOIPo
==================
$4.95/Month (Paid Monthly) 500 minutes
Additional Minutes Billed at
$0.0099/minute.
No setup fee.

So 500 minutes works out to
$0.0099/minute. All months. ($4.95)

So 100 minutes works out to
$0.0495/minute. All months. ($4.95)

[Yearly is $3/month 500 minutes is $0.006/minute.]

VOIPms
==================
$1.99/Month (Paid Monthly) 0 minutes
All Minutes Billed at
$0.0149/minute.
$0.50 setup fee.

So 500 minutes works out to
$0.0199/minute: 1st month. ($9.94)
$0.0189/minute: 2nd month. ($9.44)

So 100 minutes works out to
$0.0398/minute: 1st month. ($3.98)
$0.0348/minute: 2nd month. ($3.48)

CONCLUSION:
=====================================
I will likely port my number to VOIPo when VOIPo can
start dealing in Canadian numbers (Specifically Windsor Ont.)

I would then pay the yearly rate ($36)(And likely stay under 500 minutes.)
Note VOIPms has an $8.95 unlimited rate that makes more sense if you hit 500 minutes, and then they are more competitive than VOIPo. VOIPo might want an unlimited incoming package to offer?

In the long run, I think VOIPo will fit well for many right now if it involves US numbers.

The yearly VOIPo rate and $8.95 in billing would equal 500 + 160, so you need to exceed 660 minutes to reach the VOIPms unlimited cost. After that VOIPms saves money over VOIPo.

(I expect to echo this comparison on DSLR)
