    Perhaps, this alternate sentence will get people renewing early?

    "* Note: Promotional rates may be extended within 3 months before the time of renewal."

    You could also time an email notification at 4 months. That will do two things. It will tell you in advance, how many people are happy with their service and wish to continue. It will allow a retention team to see if the remaining customers can be added to that list, with a three month lead to their departure.

    Past the three month lead, it may not have to be their original deal. It could be a means to collect feedback and understand better what the remaining customers value in your service, or what they miss that others have.
