The company who created vBulletin, the forum software used here. It's now owned by a company known as Internet Brands, which, in turn, is being acquired by a private equity company.

FYI: Some of the original developers of vBulletin have formed a new company to make a forum system that they feel will be better than the original.

They get very nasty if the copyright is removed from the forum footer too. It was gone for a few days and I got 4 e-mails about it demanding that it be added back.

They watch over their customers.

You can remove the copyright, but you have to shell out extra cash to get official approval. But that's true for most of the forum systems. Even the free MyBB has that requirement.
