Default Any way to configure line 2 to only ring when line 1 is in use?

I would like the two lines to function more like a traditional rollover group. If line 1 is in use, then line 2 rings on the next incoming call. Presently, line 2 rings along with line 1 when a call comes in.

I'd prefer line 2 to only ring when line 1 is in use.

It's not possible that I know of.....

What you are asking for is “Call forwarding Busy”. This feature is normally used when you want to forward your phone number to another phone number when the line is busy (similar to a POTS feature with 2 separate phone numbers coming to your house). What you have with Voipo is a “cloned line” feature where both line ports in the ATA are registered to the same phone number. It's like having 2 separate devices registered to the same phone number and will cause both devices to ring. Likewise, both line ports in the ATA will ring. It’s not possible to stop line 2 port from ringing with an incoming call with a "cloned line" setup.

    Cloned line feature:

I suppose if you are willing to pay for 2 separate phone numbers (accounts) from Voipo, they may able to configure line 1 port using one phone number and line 2 port with the other phone number, and then enable the “Call Forwarding Busy” feature. I’m not sure if Voipo even offers this feature.

This has been discussed to some degree before…..please see Tim’s response in post #5:

I was able to set it up on a SIP phone, but not on the ATA...

That is a function that the standard voipo provided ATA does not have.

You'd need to find a different device with more advanced functionality.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Would an Obi 202 work for this (2 lines, with line two only ringing when line 1 in use)? I've got a couple of them sitting around.

Yes, you could use an Obi device with our service. You'd need to go into your VOIPO control panel and get your BYOD credentials to use to configure it. We can't provide any assistance with third-party devices, but we have many many many Obi users on our network.
